Tom Barrack is an American real estate investor and long-time Trump associate.
He served as the chairman of Trump’s Presidential Inaugural Committee, and was a senior adviser and top fundraiser during the campaign. Barrack has ties to other Trump associates, buying $70 million of Jared Kushner’s debt in 2010 and later personally recommending Paul Manafort as campaign manager.
Barrack has strong connections to the Middle East, reportedly executing millions of dollars in deals with the Saudis, Emiratis, and Israelis. These connections led Barrack to Manafort in the 1970s, and the two have reportedly continued to maintain both a business and personal relationship since.
Barrack was interviewed by the Special Counsel’s team in December 2017. His spokesman has claimed that Barrack is not a target of the investigation.
