Tevfik Arif is a Kazakh-born real-estate developer and founder of the Bayrock Group, a development company that worked with the Trump Organization on several projects.
Similar his business partner Felix Sater, Arif has extensive ties in Russia and the former Soviet Union, where he worked for 17 years in the Ministry of Commerce and Trade. During the 2000s, Bayrock had an office in Trump Tower and partnered repeatedly with the Trump Organization; their most notable project together was Trump SoHo, although they also co-developed the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and reportedly sought deals in Turkey, Poland, Ukraine, and Russia. According to Malcolm Nance, the author of The Plot to Hack America, Arif reportedly played a major role in connecting Trump to Russian investors who helped finance or purchased Trump Organization properties. Arif also reportedly received funding for Trump SoHo from the Russia-linked Icelandic bank FL Group. (Photo credit: Mark Von Holden / WireImage)
