Goldstone’s connection to the Trump Organization traces back at least to 2013, when his company helped publicize the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow. Goldstone, whose company also represents Emin Agalarov, helped organize Trump’s appearance in the music video for Emin’s 2013 song “In Another Life,” and can be seen in photos taken of a November 8, 2013, dinner in Moscow alongside such other notable figures as the Agalarovs, Trump, Michael Cohen, and Ike Kaveladze. Almost three years later, Goldstone emailed Donald Trump, Jr., purportedly at Emin’s behest, to set up a meeting between members of the Trump campaign and a representative of the Russian government. In the emails, Goldstone claims that Aras Agalarov had met with the “Crown prosecutor of Russia,” who “offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate [Hillary] and her dealings with Russia” as “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr Trump.” Goldstone ultimately attended the meeting, which occurred on June 9, 2016, in Trump Tower; he later claimed to The New York Times that he thought Veselnitskaya was a “private citizen.” (Photo credit: Irina Bujof / Kommersant via Getty Images)
